Teaching

How much do lessons cost per hour?

That depends on the package you book. A trial lesson costs CHF 64.- for one hour or 96.- for 90 minutes. A private language lesson at your home or place of work in the city of Zurich costs CHF 140.-/hour. If you buy a package, you can save up to 35%. Please ask us and we will be happy to send you a detailed quote for various packages. Here is a link to our complete price list.

Do you offer lessons outside the city of Zurich?

Yes. Please contact us for more information.

Are the teachers flexible when it comes to scheduling?

Our teachers always do their best to accommodate you. Please note, however, that they often have to juggle many different appointments.

Do you have any classrooms of your own?

Yes, we have classrooms at Bellevue.

Will the lessons be tailored to my specific needs?

Absolutely! Just let us know what you want to focus on.

Are all the teachers native speakers?

Yes, without exception! All of our teachers teach only their mother tongue.

Do you offer group courses?

We do, but only in-company courses. Generally, we give one-on-one lessons, as we have found them to be more effective.

Can you help me to prepare for a test?

Yes we can! Just let us know which test you need to prepare for and we will make sure to match you with a teacher who has experience preparing students for that particular test.

Which exams do you teach?

All Cambridge exams including the BEC exams, IELTS, TOEFL, LSAT, SAT, GRE, GMAT, and a wide range of German and French exams.

When does your next IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge exam/… course start?

You can start any day you like, as early as tomorrow!

How do I pay for the trial lesson and the lessons after that?

You will be issued a bill. This will be sent to you by e-mail and you can then pay it either by e-banking or with the payment slip that comes with it.

What if I feel my teacher is not right for me?

Feel free to contact administration staff. We will be happy to pair you up with a new teacher for another trial lesson, but at the regular price.

Translation

How do I get a quote?

Let us do the calculations for you. Simply send us your document to the email address below and tell us when you need it by.

How much does professional translation cost?

The total price is calculated per line. One line consists of 55 characters including spaces, and costs CHF 3.75 + VAT for delivery within 3-4 working days. If you need your translation within 24 hours, this incurs an express charge of 100%. If you need it within 2 days, the express charge will be 50%.

How do I count standard lines in my document?

When you need to count standard lines, take the number of characters including spaces (MS Word has that function) and divide it by 55 - this will give you the number of standard lines.

What is the delivery time for a translation?

Normally, we can deliver within 3-4 working days. If you need your text earlier, we can accommodate you. Express rates may apply. If it is a very long text, we may need more time. For an estimate, it would be best if you let us know how many words your text has and we can give you a quote.

Can you deliver on the same day?

Unfortunately not. We have found that a quality product is seldom provided under extreme time pressure. However, is there any way you can give us a little more time?

Can you translate into both American and British English?

Yes, we can. Just let us know your preference.

Is my translator a native speaker?

Yes! Our qualified translators only translate into their native tongue.

Will my document be treated confidentially?

Don’t worry. We will treat all of your documents and information with the utmost discretion!

Proofreading

How do I get a quote?

Let us do the calculations for you. Simply send us your document to the e-mail-address below and tell us when you need it by.

How much does it cost?

For proofreading, we normally charge CHF 0.08/word + VAT. We offer a 50% student discount on our per word rate. In some circumstances, we might have to charge by the hour. One hour costs CHF 120.00 + VAT.

How do I count the words in my document?

MS Word has a function which allows you to count words.

I am a student - do I get a discount?

Yes. If you are a student, we give you a special student rate (CHF 0.04/word + VAT) or CHF 80.00/hour + VAT. If you send us your text as a Word document by e-mail, we will give you a no-obligation quote.

When will a proofread text be delivered?

That depends on the length of your text. We can normally deliver within 3-4 working days. If you need your text earlier, we can usually accommodate you and deliver within 24 hours or within 2 working days at express rates (Delivery within 24 hours: 100% express charge. Delivery within 2 working days: 50% express charge).

Can you deliver my proofread text on the same day?

Unfortunately not. We have found that a quality product is seldom provided under extreme time pressure. However, is there any way you can give us a little more time?

Can I send you my text by post and then can you insert the corrections in writing?

No. Experience has shown us that correcting documents this way seldom leads to a high quality end product. Please send us your text by e-mail. We will make changes using the Track Changes function in MS Word. This way you can decide which changes you want to accept and also learn from the process.

Can you edit/rewrite my text in regard to content?

That depends. If your text is a bachelor’s or master’s thesis or some other form of student paper, we cannot edit content. We proofread your text in regard to grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax and style. Of course we will make sure it sounds as if a native speaker has written it! All other texts we can edit/rewrite in addition to proofreading, and we can compare them with the original text if it is a translation. Note: If you have special requirements such as editing/rewriting, we may need to charge by the hour instead of by the word.

Will my document be treated confidentially?

Don’t worry. We will treat all of your documents and information with the utmost discretion!
